MAJOR RAGER, SET IT OFF!

DJ Barletta (lots of black and white pictures lately)
Today's featured artist is Barletta and I've been sitting on these tunes of his for quite a while now, just waiting for the perfect time to post. The time has finally come, and they are both bangers from Barletta.  You might think I was advertising a huge party or show with the title of this post, but it turns it's just the names of the songs.  If you couldn't tell already, they get hype as hell..  Barletta is out of Toronto, Canada and he's incredibly young and talented.  The first song starts off with some electro heat and a huge build then takes a funky turn towards the end that you might not see coming but I guarantee you will enjoy.  The second song samples the same song that Duck Sauce samples for their track, "Barbara Streisand," and in my opinion this is a better and more original song.
You have to check these tunes out..

Lose It (In The End) ft. Ghostface Killah - Mark Ronson

Download: Lose It (In The End) ft. Ghostface Killah - Mark Ronson

I know the posts haven't been coming this week, my bad I've been really busy in NYC the last few days and I thought I posted this one on Wednesday, but somehow it didn't work.  Last night I saw Lotus, STS9 and Big Gigantic, and it was a really incredible show.  Anyways, sorry for the lack of posts, let's get to the music.  Mark Ronson is a producer from the UK who I don't know a ton about besides that he has collaborated with Wale and that he has released two huge new tracks of his new album "Record Collection" recently.  He collaborates with Ghostface Killah on this track,"Lose It", and Q-Tip is also featured on his album.  I really like the upbeat tempo and collaborations on these jams, enjoy..

**UPDATE: Thursday August 11th I saw these guys at Irving Plaza at the afterparty for STS9 and Lotus, and they absolutely murdered it! The place was going crazy, these guys are so incredible live, definitely check them out if you ever get the chance
Big Gigantic is out of Boulder, Colorado and they are taking the live electronic music world by storm.  They are recognized by electronic's huge names- they have played shows with STS9, Lotus, Bassnectar, Rusko and Shpongle.  Big Gigantic is a two man group, they have a producer/saxophonist and a drummer, they incorporate synth and wobble while also having powerful sax solos.  This is such a tight group, check em out..
oh yeah, Big Gigantic and Alex B. are playing at Trees Dallas on October 21st, check that out it should be a great show

Nu-Disco, A Guide Pt. 2

Next to Dubstep, Nu-Disco has got to be one of the fastest growing genres of electronic music out right now.  Inspired by Italo-disco, it stays true to it's roots and is some of the best dance music there is.  Artists like Breakbot, Duck Sauce, Grum, Moullinex and LBCK are some of the breakthrough artists featured. This is the second installment, enjoy!

We Are The People That Rule The World

Empire of the Sun is an australian duo who make synth-rock that is very upbeat and catchy.  You may have heard their song "Walking On A Dream," if not, then you probably have at least heard it sampled in Wiz Khalifa's "The Thrill."  One of Australia's better groups out in a minute, they have a very unique sound that is all their own.  Enjoy.

UNRELEASED Pretty Lights

Right now your probably thinking, "wait, what is he thinking, doesn't he mean new Pretty Lights?"  Well, it is true there is a great new Pretty Lights EP, "Spilling Over Every Side," and it's the second he's dropped on us this year, (you can download it for free on Pretty Lights Website) but no, that's not what I meant.
What I also have for you today is a unreleased EP from Derek called "Electro City," it's from really early in his career.  You can understand why he is so huge now--this is one of his first projects and it's incredible.  Even compared to his more recent EPs, this one is really great.  This EP was unreleased, so it doesn't even have track names.. I'd suggest just listening to it straight through, you'll enjoy it.

MAILBAG!

Alright, so I'm stoked people are sending in their music to us here at Noise Candy - I really love hearing fresh new artists, and it's a plus for me if I can help them out in any way.  Anyways, here's some tracks from two of the artists whose material we have gotten in our mailbox.
First up is Super K.  I really know nothing about Super K except he makes some sweet remixes.  I love his remix of "Hustler Musik", it's a crunchy track.  His "Love Lock Down" remix is fire too, an improvement on the original if you ask me.  Check out these remixes..
Next up, Carterficial.  This cat is from New York City, the Bronx to be exact.  He has been making music for a while but has just released his first album "Blue Pills."  Rooted in hip hop and house, Carterficial makes dope trip hop/downtempo music that's perfect just to let spin and relax for a while.  I'd suggest checking out "Pavor Nocturnus"at the very least.  Show some love on Carterficial's Bandcamp Page, you can sample "Blue Pills" there and buy it too.
Check Carterficial out!
"We ought to push back against any established power structure or governing body that seeks to deintellectualize as a means to subvert and control the people."  - Carterficial's Bandcamp
Preach! I dig the outlook...

Later guys..
