Back With Moombahton in the Mix

I'm back from the week in Dallas, I was honestly way to "busy" to do any posting.  But I'm back in Charlotte and back strong, with posts on posts lined up.  I made it to a second round of Identity Festival in Dallas and it was absolutely amazing, as expected after the one in Charlotte.  I got to see Pretty Lights in the front row, Rusko again, Datsik, Crystal Method and the Disco Biscuits.  I also got to see the Crystal Method's crazy new instrument, it's like a crazy double guitar-mixer-keyboard hybrid.  Needless to say, I am fucking exhausted.  Now, on to the Moombahton.. I've got some very large dancefloor movers today.  Lots of Nada and Botnek, remixes of Avicii and Afrojack, the just released Torro Torro Remix of Dillon Francis and Diplo's "Que Que", and a dope Gucci Gucci Remix to bring it on home.  More posts (Dubstep, Trance, House, Electro) on the way soon!

Identity Festival Recap | Kaskade | Rusko | Chuckie |

Identity Festival in Charlotte was a great time.  We got to see Datsik, Booka Shade, Chuckie, Nero, DJ Shadow, Rusko and Kaskade.  Datsik's equipment went down early so his set was cut short, but everybody killed it.  Kaskade, Rusko and Chuckie were my favorites, so today's post will feature these three.  Chuckie was absolutely nuts, Rusko was some of the most loud and intense bass I have ever heard and Kaskade was out of this world, living up to all expectations.  Some of the highlights from Kaskade's set were his opener, "Raining", "Eyes", his new "Invisible" Remix, "The End" by Tommy Trash, and Michael Wood's "Bullet".. Also, Kaskade's new stage setup (above as well)  is one of the coolest I've ever seen.  Rusko also played his new jam "Somebody to Love", and I have a rip of that for you from Mista Jam's radio show.  ENJOY.

Rap Meets Dubstep

When Dubstep and Rap collide, some very epic music is produced.  This new genre of dubstep is becoming more and more popular, and I couldn't be more happy about it. Bassnectar has been a big proponent of this movement.  I have been hoping to hell someone would make a remix of Waka Flocka's "Hard In the Paint", and Crizzly has come through with his edit and it's absolutely banging, this has been on repeat all week, I can see this making a party go nuts..  Moving on, I can't tell you how surprised and excited I was to hear Flux Pavilion's "I Can't Stop" and Cassius' "I Love U So" sampled on Jay-Z and Kanye West's new album "Watch The Throne."  I have those two tracks for you, then Big Gigantic's new remixes of Talib Kweli & Kanye's "Get Em High" and Biggie's "Notorious Thugs," which are dope as hell.  Finally, the last jam I have is Minnesota's new song "Roof Back" that samples Rick Ross' "Hustlin".  POW!

Zomboy - Game Time EP

I've just returned from the beach and have a bunch of material backed up that I want to post.  Zomboy's Game Time EP has just come out this week on Never Say Die records, and every track is an absolute smasher.  Zomboy is from the UK and has a heavy sound somewhat similar sound to Skrillex, which has started a lot of buzz around his new EP.  I'm including "Organ Donor," a standout track from the EP.  According to the press release the guys over at Never Say Die sent me: "Game Time is an electro-dub enthused rollercoaster of sounds meshed, chopped and screwed together set to leave you paralytic 1 minute, and euphoric the next.  The EP intertwines between earth shattering bass with glitching breaks that come at you with the force of Street Fighter character Ryu's Hadouken!"  Couldn't have said it any better..

Moombahton In The Mix [Diplo, Dillon Francis, Clockwork and More]

Today I have some sweet Moombahton tracks to bring you into the weekend in the right way.  The boys over at Mad Decent have been doing it big lately, definitely check out Mad Decent Vol. 1 if you haven't already. Today's post has tracks from Diplo, Dillon Francis, Clockwork, Geek Boy and A-Mac.  Dillon Francis has been releasing a TON of new music this month, and it's all so good, I've probably listened to Beautician 2.0 about 100 times in the last week.  Now I love me some good Moombahton, but the fact is I don't like most of the songs that I hear that are classified as Moombahton. Today, this is not the case at all -- these tracks are fucking hot.

This Week's Best: House & Trance

Goodwill & Hook N Sling's hot new song, "Take You Higher" is making waves right now.  The duo reworked their remix of "Big Jet Plane" by Angus & Julia Stone, gave it a new name, and the end result is the classic house track you see before you.  Some people say Klaas can only remix, but he has come out with an excellent new original mix which is really good to hear.  Kaskade's mix of "Don't Hold Your Breath" is great, but I'm also including Cahil's Club remix which is damn good too.  Now, onto the rising stars.  After hearing dBerrie's remix of "Alright" and Ellie Goulding "Lights", I am confident he is someone to keep an eye on in 2011.   Fresh out of my inbox.. let me introduce SumsQuare, a DJ who is making moves in the French house scene.  "Crash Test" is a really good house track, it has some trancey euphoric vibes in there that I just love.

Spencer & Hill - Dance EP [ELECTRO HOUSE]

Spencer & Hill's long anticipated new EP "Dance" released today on Beatport, and it makes you want to do exactly what the title implies.  "Dance" is SO fire.  Released on Dim Mak, it's a more technical and mastered version of their track "So Dance".  The EP includes Dirtyloud's remix, which is heavier but impressive as well.  I'm also throwing in Spencer & Hill's awesome remix of "Call My Name",  Sultan and Shepard's song with the wonderful Nadia Ali.  You might not be ready for this one...
