Dada Life - Happy Violence [Remixes]

There are some seriously fantastic remixes of Dada Life's recently released hit track "Happy Violence."  The Swedish duo were able to get remixes from the killer lineup of Kaskade, Swanky Tunes, Caveat and Uppermost.  In case you didn't know, Caveat is only 16 years old and already producing bumping electro tracks.  Also, I have the full version of Dodge Viper's sick remix and a preview of Henry Fong's amazing new big room progressive remix--these are the only unofficial ones of the lot.  Don't sleep on these remixes, there are some serious bangers in here.

Basto - Again & Again (Original Mix)

It's no secret I love this kind of amazing uplifting trance.  I was about to go to bed, but then I found myself listening to this gem from Basto.  Basto's newest single 'Again and Again' released earlier this month, and it's unbelievable. Artist Spotlight: Chuckie

Two huge new tracks from Chuckie, he's really been showing his versatility as a producer lately while still staying true to his dirty dutch roots.  Chuckie's show at ID fest was one of my favorites of the whole experience, Charlotte to Dallas.  He's been making big moves this year, doing more than his part to get EDM into the mainstream spotlight. The new 'Who Is Ready To Jump" is so sick, I'm a big fan.. click here if you want to hear a longer version ripped from a set.  His remix of Calvin Harris & Rihanna's 'We Found Love' is a really great track, even though it's not his typical style.  Only these two songs, they are so good they deserve the spotlight.

Album Review: Kaskade - "Fire & Ice"

With this album, I believe Kaskade has solidified himself as the top American producer in the EDM game.  May be a bold statement, but he was the highest rated American DJ on DJ Mag's Top 100 for 2011, with the exception of Skrillex (who's legions of fans rocketed him from unranked to 19th.)  Fire & Ice is a fantastic album.  It's exactly what we expected from Kaskade--his production is at it's best right now.   

     The album released on today on iTunes, and comes out everywhere November 8th. Every song has two versions, one on the 'Fire' side, with a more upbeat progressive style, and one on the 'Ice' side, slowed down and simplified like his older style.  The tracks that have already been released, 'Turn It Down' and 'Eyes,' are two highlight tracks on the album without a doubt.  'Eyes' is an anthem, 'Turn It Down' is a club banger, and both are unbelievable.  The much speculated about collaboration with Skrillex, 'Lick It,' is an excellent track that compliments both of their styles well while surprisingly incorporating some disco.  The track with Neon Trees, 'Lessons In Love,' blew me away, it's a banger if I've ever heard one, definitely one of my favorites.  I can't explain how good "Room For Happiness" is, it's classic Kaskade.  His collaboration with Haley, 'Llove,' is one of the best out of their many tracks together.  The collaboration with Dada Life, 'Ice,' just kills it with a great drop and solid hook laid down by Dan Black.  For me, Fire & Ice becomes an incredible album with the previously unreleased tracks and the 'Ice' B-Sides, I'm enjoying every single one of them.  Kaskade's production is tight and he has great choices of vocalists and collaborations on every song, there simply is not a bad track on this album.

Some Moombah for your Monday

I don't know if anyone else is having a tough Monday like I am.. if you are, or even if you aren't, here's some dope Moombahton tracks to bring up your mood.  This first track is a real gem.  It's a excellent track from Nadastrom with a great drop and bouncey dutch influence entitled  'i!!".. it's sure to be a dancefloor-mover.  Next is a classic track from Munchi, "Esta Noche," also heavy on the dutch influence and incorporates some enjoyable vocals.  Enjoy, I'll be back later for more.

The Latest and Greatest Trance and Progressive

DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ's has just come out, with David Guetta taking the top spot this year.  Somewhat a surpise, but he's up there with Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Armin, Deadmau5 and Avicii (up from 33).  Check out the list here.  
     I'm about to be on my way to Amsterdam, and ADE is this weekend.  We're trying to see Fedde le Grand and friends tonight at Escape.  On Saturday, the dutch label Kings of Ace's party with Afrojack, Sydney Samson, R3hab, Like Mike & Dmitri Vegas, Nervo, Quintino, Shermanology and more is the biggest party.  Should be a good weekend.
     Two Coldplay remixes today--Fedde Le Grand's new remix of 'Paradise,' and finally the studio version of Avicii's remix of "Every Tear Is A Waterfall," both are excellent.. I'm hoping to hear 'Paradise' tonight.  In addition to this, I have previews from Tiesto, Kaskade, R3hab & Swanky Tunes and Dirty South, and they are all bangers.  The Kaskade remix is a rip from BBC1, hit the jump to get the shorter hq preview from R3hab's Soundcloud.

Madeon - "Icarus" and Video Teaser

This new Madeon track, "Icarus," was posted Deadmau5's Soundcloud just a few hours ago, as well as being featured in Madeon's new video teaser as well.  It's an incredible track with Daft Punk-esque synth and perfect incorporation of breaks--it reinforces what we already know--Madeon has mad skills and is the future of music.  The video was taken from his performance this summer at Social Club in Paris.

Zedd - Shave It (Original Mix)

This is post one of two for today, and the flavor is electro.  First up, Zedd's new tune released on Skrillex's OWSLA, "Shave It," is a real masterful production, definitely not one to miss.  Loosely defined as electro, A-Trak's remix of "How Deep Is Your Love" is sure to get the party started.  Tits and Clits, who consistently produce bangers, come through with another big one with the same name as the girl in Inception, "Ariadne." New Zeds Dead and Mojo EP's

The new Zeds Dead EP dropped today and it is as excellent and grimy as expected.  Hard to believe, but this is not the EP I'm most excited about. Buygore Records signing Mojo has just come out with his new EP "Carnival / Toybox," and it is an absolute monster. Mojo brings together wonderful melodies with face-shattering bass for a great outcome. Definitely check out "Carnival," that song has been stuck in my head all week.  I'm also including the popular Zeds Dead / Big Sean mashup by the girls in Jane Doze, Downlink's unbelievable remix of Porter Robinson's "100% In The Bitch," and a heavy remix of "Hot Mess" by Chromeo--thanks to Kat for that one..  Enjoy.

Artist Spotlight: Tommy Trash

Tommy Trash, said best by his twitter bio, is an "Australian music kid living it up in London town."  He's been living it up and doing big things during the last month or two since dropping his massive hit "The End."  Good work doesn't go unnoticed here at NC, so here are a handful of his quite recent tracks that kill it.  Of the most recent are his remixes of "Alive" and "One Last Ride," his original tune "Future Folk" and the huge new collaboration with John Dahlback "Come Undone."  I'm also a huge fan of "Mr. President."  Enjoy.
