Tyler, The Creator vs. Slim Shady

This is not a mashup. 
So I'm a huge fan of Tyler, Earl, and Hodgy and I really like their music and outlook.  If you don't feel the same way, watch the DRONE interview with Tyler, The Creator and then try to tell me you don't at least understand why a lot of people do.  Anyways, I was listening to "The Slim Shady" LP & EP and "The Marshall Mathers LP" the other day and I couldn't help but think that Tyler, The Creator and the Wolf Gang rappers are somewhat copying Slim Shady's style.  Rapping about ridiculous shit like raping bitches stabbing people and talking shit about people they don't like.  Both Tyler and Marshall were raised by single mothers, and both are incredibly creative and dark.  Tyler is straight edge though which has a pretty big impact.  I think a lot of people overlooked Shady's actual style because they classified him as a white rapper and that was it.  I'm still a huge OFWGKTA fan, but you can't deny they are swag-jacking Slim Shady 10 years later, and it's going unnnoticed because Marshall Mathers / Eminem is rapping about his Detox, Retox etc..  Just an observation.  Listen to the tunes and see what you think.

First off, Big K.R.I.T. produced BOTH these fire tracks, so props to him, both beats bump and have dope samples.  I've been sitting on this Berner track with Wiz and K.R.I.T. for a week or two now, it's the first Wiz verse I've heard post-Rolling Papers, and I really like what I'm hearing.  Then I got one of my favorite tracks off Smoke DZA's new mixtape "The Hustler's Catalogue (THC)," it's with Big K.R.I.T too. Meet Leno Lovecraft

It's been all hip hop for the last few posts, so here's something to shake things up.  Meet Leno Lovecraft, Maman Records' newest signing.  I got an email from Maman about this kid and I ended up listening to and loving all the tracks, which is rare considering some of the garbage that ends up in my inbox.  Leno is an 18 year old New Zealander who has just moved to Paris and really has been cranking out some really sexy disco tunes lately.  Here's what Maman Record's rep had to say about Leno in the email: Leno "takes the best parts of 80s on a background of Funk and Italo-Disco."  His track "Cybernetic" is reminiscent to me of Daft Punk with the robotic vocals and shred guitar.  I really like Leno, check him out.

NEW Eddy B & Tim Gunter

North Carolina's Eddy B and Tim Gunter, who attend UNC Greensboro and N.C. State, respectively, have dropped a new track titled "Time Will Only Tell" with DC's Young Prince.  Tim Gunter's production is clean as usual, the beat samples Bittersweet Symphony, Eddy B and YP both flow sick on it.. I really like the chorus with both young rappers on it as well.
