Danger Mouse + Sparklehorse, Trillwave

Two part post today
Part One
Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse have a newly released project called "Dark Night Of The Soul," and it's absolutely great. The album is produced by the amazing Danger Mouse and features the likes of Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, Iggy Pop, David Lynch, Black Francis, David Lynch, The Flaming Lips, James Mercer, Gruff Rhys, Vic Chesnutt and more. This album has two sides however, as great of an album as it is, it actually stands as a monument to the late Linkous of Sparklehorse and Vic Chesnutt, both of which who were contributors on this project, and both of whom were lost to suicide before this album could be released. Sparklehorse's lead man, Linkous, committed suicide March 6, 2009 at the age of 47. Vic Chesnutt had been partially paralyzed since 1993 after a car accident, and after serveral suicide attempts, he succeeded with an overdose of muscle relaxers on Christmas 2009. This posthumous memorial of these two musicians is one to remember.

Part Two

To simplify things, let's do this all on one post, and i'll keep this one short. For you mash junkies, I've got the new Hood Internet mixtape for y'all. It's called "Trillwave," it's presented by Mishka and it's got some good mashes on there. Keep your eye out for a post with all my favorite mashups on it sometime in the near future.

Peace.
